An audience of over 100 CTA members and guests enjoyed a fascinating and detailed talk by Andrew Woodyatt about the inner London districts of Dalston and Stoke Newington and their numerous cinemas across the last 120 years. The talk included an exclusive video tour of the upper regions of the Kingsland Empire unseen by the general public for 85 years, in the building which is now the very successful Rio independent repertory cinema. Many expressions of enjoyment and appreciation were received from the audience, who also enjoyed a Q&A with Andrew after the presentation, which was followed by the regular Open Chat forum.
